Formula Student - Nosecone
Universitas Indonesia Racing Team | 3D CAD → CFRP Manufacturing → Modular Assembly

How
- Modeled the complex surface curvature in 3D CAD, ensuring precise fitment over the front bulkhead and suspension geometry.
- Executed the physical build using fiberglass manufacturing techniques, transitioning the digital model into a functional, structural composite shell.
- Designed a 4-pin quick-release system to enable modular assembly and removal of the front nosecone section.

Result
- Produced a slimmer, lighter, and modular nosecone that met all structural performance targets for dynamic track events.
Why
The team identified a need for a slimmer nosecone that was easier to remove, to allow for easier maintenance access to inner components such as electrical wiring and pedals.
What
Designed a slimmer nosecone profile that follows the tubular chassis shape, with a removable front section that detaches independently while the rear section remains fixed to the chassis.
